A quick & cheap Valentine’s Day outfit

12th February 2017

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE. I was going to do a What Went On This Week, but to be honest… I have absolutely nothing to report apart from the fact that I bought some contact lenses and watched a lot (a LOT…) of Grey’s Anatomy – wild. I’m only on season 4, so no spoilers! Instead – It’s a quick little Valentine’s Day outfit that I thought you’d quite like to see!

Let me give you a bit of background info – I saw this polka dot dress on the Zara website back in October or November, but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it. I’m not sure why, and believe me, it was beautiful in real as well, but I just couldn’t commit. BUT THEN, a few weeks ago, I spotted this polka dot dress in Primark for a bargainous – wait for it…. £13. THIRTEEN BRITISH POUNDS. So obviously I picked it up and went on my merry way.

Context done, I wanted this to be a cute little Valentine’s Day look (yes, I was very cold when we shot this), and so I paired it with my favourite ankle boots, although it would look super sexy with knee high boots! Of course, for a pop of colour (very Valentinesy eh), I added my red Zara bag. Don’t forget your black coat or leather jacket if you’re wanting to go for something a bit edgier. Outfit done.

I really love this look. Polka dots are so timeless, and if worn the right way, it can be such a sassy little outfit. You’ll have seen it EVERYWHERE recently, so I suggest you make sure you’ve got a polka dotty piece in your wardrobe asap.
For reference – I went for a size 8. I’m 5ft4, and the length of this shirt dress sat just at the perfect place on the ol’ thigh.
