I feel like I’ve not posted my face for ages and

I feel like I’ve not posted my face for ages and I think because the weather has no idea what it’s doing AND there are boxes infiltrating my MIND at this point because of the kitchen reno, I can’t post outfits because it’s just a mess and I’m not going anywhere? DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? Anyway, I put make up on and did it differently to usual, and I like it. ☺️

Anyway, I wore double denim the other day and I didn’t hate it? The jeans were a bit baggy towards the bottom so it felt like a really comfortable jumpsuit 👖

At the end of October I was made redundant from my job in marketing. I've been working in the industry for over 8 years and I absolutely love it, but that job and my incredibly toxic manager really made me begin to feel like it wasn't for me anymore.

Since being furloughed anyway, my mind constantly flitted between going back after having Casey or completely changing careers and doing what I had originally planned on doing before I fell pregnant with Isla - and that was teaching.

I felt like being made redundant was just a sign; the push I needed to just apply and just before Christmas, I was accepted into both of the courses I applied to.
Looking back now, I cringe because I was offered a place on the course on my Zoom interview and I promptly burst into tears hahaha, but I wanted it so badly and I'm so proud that I managed to do it.

I've been volunteering in a Year 2 class for the last two Thursdays and will be continuing to do so until they get sick of me tbh, but I'm loving it!

My Primary teaching course starts in September, for a year and although I am so, so nervous, and SO aware that it's going to be ridiculously intense, I'm excited and really looking forward to good change. ✨

I touched on it on my stories yesterday but everything around the Sarah Everard case has brought up a lot of horrible, horrible memories for many people and I truly hope you're okay. 🧡

I've had a sick feeling in my stomach all week about it all and am thinking of Sarah and her poor family, and how much they (and we) are so desperate this nightmare to end, and for her to turn up alive and well.

In 2011, I'd just broken up with a boyfriend and went to visit my old flatmate from first year in SE London. I stayed well into the night, had a few drinks, caught up and left to go home around 1am. My bus was a straight one, stopped right outside the Santander bank on Walworth road in e&c, but there was a guy on the top deck who kept turning around to look at me - there were only three of us up there.

I got off at my stop, looked behind me to see that he'd got off too and once I'd walked past the bank, I looked behind again and he wasn't there so I carried on. I kept checking and eventually he came back into sight but he was walking at my speed on the opposite side of the road. It was pitch black, no one else was obviously around and he crossed the street towards me whilst I crossed back over to avoid him.

He skipped back over, and at this point I was literally about 30 steps from my house and he towered over me and asked me if i had a watch and if I could tell him the time (classic). I said no and tried to keep walking, but he grabbed my shoulders and throat, pushing to get me down to the floor. I screamed and screamed and it felt like an age that I was trying to get this man off of me, but I managed to get my arm round and instinctively just went for his eye, stuck the tip of my index finger in there and pushed with as much force as I could to get him off me.

I hurt him enough for him to realise that it wasn't going to work because I was still screaming, he let go and I ran as fast as I could to get home. I've never been more grateful to have @jessicaweston01 and Ash there. We called the police and they dealt with it but after my complaint and one trip to be questioned, I heard nothing else.

I feel foggy today - I have so many thoughts whirr

I feel foggy today - I have so many thoughts whirring in my head about lockdown, being a mum, work, even Instagram. They're overlapping and crashing into each other and over me so much that I don't get a minute to come up for air.

Unexplainable anxious thoughts drizzle over me daily, and I can't figure out why I feel the way that I feel??

I love what I'm posting on here at the moment - I have absolutely no idea where I fall, but I like what I share and I'm constantly fighting myself over whether it's what others want to see vs what I enjoy, but luckily I seem to be winning that battle, even if it's not what people care about.

Right now I can't find a minute to finish any task - not even the small things, and I keep shooting myself reminders that I need to soak all of this time up but I also need a few seconds to breathe because all of this, everything, is SO full on.

It's all so confusing? I don't know, maybe I need to write a list, perhaps the fog will clear a bit then - but here's a carousel of completely unrelated photos I've taken that I like. ✨
